Emilie is super excited to be working at the Academy and enjoys helping students succeed academically and in life in general. Emilie is a fourth year Biomedical Science student at the University of Guelph and wants to pursue Physical Therapy once she graduates.

“I love working as a tutor because I get to see that ‘lightbulb’ moment when students figure out the concept, and to see them build on that foundational knowledge. It’s awesome to be able to support students as they learn and help them see how the skills they are acquiring are used in real life! “

Melanie is one of the tutors at the West Hills Guelph Academy! Melanie is in her fifth year at the University of Guelph majoring in physics and minoring in mathematics. Melanie has worked for the Department of Physics over the last few years improving physics education, as well as creating outreach material for students interested in STEM.

“When I was in high school, I also had a tutor for math and physics, and now I have devoted my life to these subjects. I have experienced firsthand the impact that a tutor can have on a student. It is my goal to inspire other students to discover the same passion I have for physics and math!”
